Body of a Woman is Found in a Lake
Authorities Investigating as to Possibility of Foul Play.
The body of Mrs. Jennine Warren, 67, who was missing following the burning of the farm home east of Newark Sunday morning a week ago, was found in Mud Lake, abut a mile south of the Warren place, on Thursday afternoon. It was discovered by a little boy while fishing.
Mrs. Warren was dressed in some of the old clothes of her deceased husband, Sheridan Warren, and attached to her feet and body were heavy weights. The lake where her body was found, is a small lake and the place selected is difficult to reach on account of a marshy shore.
funeral services were held at the Dryer Funeral Home on Saturday with burial in Lakeside Cemetery.
In order to clear up the matter, if possible, county officers ordered a post mortem. It is reported that no water was found in her lungs and that one lung was punctured. That, however, may have been caused by the woman;s struggles. The vital organs were removes and taken to Ann Arbor for examination. No report is expected for several days.
While the effort to determine whether there was foul play or not, is a duty, general opinion here is that Mrs. Warren took her own life.
