Died May 30, 1951 in Korea Private First Class Sarate was a member of Company I, 3rd Battalion, 19th Infantry Regiment, 24th Infantry Division. He died of other causes on May 30, 1951 at Tok-Hyon, North Korea. PFC Sarate was awarded the Combat Infantryman's Badge, the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal and the Republic of Korea War Service Medal.
