Died November 14, 1952 in Korea Private First Class Piper was a member of the 17th Infantry Regiment, 7th Infantry Division. He was seriously wounded by the enemy in North Korea on October 29, 1952 and died of those wounds on November 14, 1952. PFC Piper was awarded the Purple Heart, the Combat Infantryman's Badge, the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal and the Korean War Service Medal.
