Wilva E. (Johnson) Reischling
Wilva E. (Johnson) Reischling, June 17, 1908 - July 14, 2006, age 98, of Sanford died Friday, at Brittany Manor. The daughter of the late James C. and Elizabeth (Allder) Johnson was born in Rose Center, Michigan where she was raised and educated. She married Homer Reischling in Bowling Green, Ohio on May 3 1929; he predeceased her February 20, 1989. Mrs. Reischling assisted in the operation of Reischling Construction, the family business, for over 25 years. She retired to Sanford in 1968; having had a cottage on the lake since 1941. Mrs. Reischling was an avid quilter and crocheter of afghans. She donated these to the needy, nursing homes, and group homes.
She is survived by her sons, Bruce E. (Anna) Reischling of Lake, Bryce Reischling of Midland, and James D. (Patricia) Reischling of Swartz Creek; daughter Lois Perepeluk of Sanford; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her sister, Leota Murrell.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 am, Wednesday, July 19, 2006 from the Wilson Miller Funeral Home with the Reverend Wayne Shidler of Heartland Hospice officiating. Interment will be in Jerome Township Cemetery. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 2-4 & 6-8 pm at the funeral home. Memorials may be offered to the Mitchell House, 305 E. St. Andrews, Midland, Mi.
