Walter W. Abbey was born in Sep 3, 1828 in New York State and died May 30, 1900 in Novi Township, Oakland County, Michigan. He is the son of Alexander Abbey and Anne Burke. He married to Lucinda Austin, who was born in Feb 14, 1828 in New York State and died in Sep 1, 1908 in Novi Township, Oakland County, Michigan. She is the daughter of Cornelius Austin and Clarissa Bartlett. Both he and his wife are buried in Novi Corners Cemetery, Novi Twp.; Oakland Co., MI. He came with his parents to Novi from New York.

He and his wife had the following children:
Alice Jane ,John ,Norman J., Orson J , Eliza (who married George A. Welfare), Moses D. Duana (who married Frank Pratt), and Elizabeth Ann (who married first Mr. McCrumb and second to Adelbert Martin).
The DAR cemetery transcripts list, Walter Abbey 1828-1900 and his wife Lucinda 1828-1908, both buried in Novi Corners Cemetery, Lucinda in 1900 was living with her daughter Elizabeth and her husband Myson McCrumb. Their daughter Alice Jane and son John have not been found in the census records after 1880.

Norman moved sometime between the 1880 and 1900 censuses to Whatcom County, Washington State and was a widower by the 1930 census, living there in the city of Bellingham. The 1900 census states he was born in July 1853 in Michigan, his occupation being a Home Carpenter, and that he had been married for 20 years to a woman named Lilly.

Orson was born about 1847 in Michigan, he is living in Novi in 1920 and in 1930 he is living in Commerce Township, Oakland County, Michigan. The 1910 census states that he had been married for 15 years to a woman named Mary M. who was born about 1877 in Michigan, they had a son named Orson George who was born about 1898 in Michigan.

Eliza was born about 1862 in Michigan, she married  George Welfare, the 1900 census states that they had been married for 23 years, They were living in Novi, Oakland Co., MI in the 1900,1910,1920 censuses, in the 1930 census they are living in Commerce Township, Oakland Co., MI. They had two daughters Gertrude who was born in Oct., 1880 in Michigan, she married to Lewis Verne Johnson, and Grace who was born in Feb 1883 in Michigan.

Moses D. was born in June 1861 in Michigan, he Moved between 1880 and 1900 to Midland; Midland County, Michigan and was still living there in 1930.  He married to a woman named Ida who was born April 1862 in Michigan. The 1900 census states they had been married for  12 years, This was his first marriage and her second, The 1900 census shows they had two sons together Floyd who was born Feb 1883 in Michigan and John who was born in Dec 1885 in Michigan, a step son Ervin Bristol who was born  May 1879 in Michigan, and an aunt Eliza Bennett who was born Feb 1827 in New York State.

Duana was born about 1866 in Michigan, she married Franklin W. Pratt, who was born about 1869 in Michigan. The 1910 census states that they had been married for 16 years, and that she is the mother of five children, only three living, none of them listed with them in the census.  In 1910 they are living in Novi, Oakland County, Michigan, in 1920 and 1930 they are living in Commerce Township. She and Franklin are buried in the Commerce Cemetery.

Elizabeth Ann was born in July 1870 in Michigan, she married first to Myson McCrumb and Second to Adelbert Martin. The 1900 census of Novi, Oakland County, Michigan states she was married to Myson McCrumb who was born in Aug 1870 in Michigan, and that they had been married for 8 years, and they had 1 son Fred who was born in Sep 1892 in Michigan. In the 1910 census she is married to Delbert Martin who was born about 1860 in Michigan, they are living in Sumter Township, Wayne County, Michigan, in the 1930 census they had moved to Northville, Wayne County, Michigan, his son Guy (from his first marriage), her son Fred McCrumb and grandson Jack McCrumb are living with them.
